Queensland’s Quarantine System’s backlog may continue for Months

Australia News

Emails obtained by Sky News shows Queensland’s quarantine system is still swamped despite introducing more staff and home quarantine trials. The most impacted are residents trying to re-enter the state as three months’ worth of applications are currently backlogged. Citizens are facing the prospect of being locked out of Queensland until Christmas or possibly into the early 2022 if applications approval speed does not increase. The emails indicate the approvals are based on the limited availability of quarantine rooms and staff only getting through a fraction of the application passes.
