Proposed 2025 parliament sitting dates hint at federal election timing
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell discusses the proposed 2025 parliament sitting dates which give clues about when the federal election could be held.
Key dates from the beginning of next year include the parliament sitting between February 4-13 and the RBA will hand down a rate decision on February 1.
The Western Australia election will take place on March 8 and the federal budget will be read on March 25.
“You could call it [federal election] March 9 like Paul Keating did the day after the WA election,” Mr Clennell said.
“You could have the budget straight after the WA election about March 11.
“They [ Labor] promised a March budget.
“They put it right in the spot they can afford to lose the budget.”
