Australia’s decline in ‘standard of living’

IPA Deputy Executive Director Daniel Wild has discussed the decline in the standard of living in Australia as the migration and housing crisis continues to get “worse”. The Australian Bureau of Statistics announced on Thursday that Australia’s population surpassed 27 million with net overseas migration a huge component of year-on-year growth. “We’ve had six consecutive quarters of negative per capita economic growth that is the longest decline to living standards that Australians have had on record,” Mr Wild told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “The figures out today just reinforce the fact that the government is not in control of this program you know we want to be a welcoming nation we want to be a nation that can bring in more migrants but there’s three things that need to be met. “It must be planned for, it must have the consent of the community and it must be targeted towards areas of economic need that haven’t been happening.” Credit to : Sky News Australia
