‘Old slurs’ Regurgitated to ‘attack’ Morrison’s character: Kenny

Australia News

Sky News host Chris Kenny says Labor wants to avoid the big issues and concentrate on the character assassination of Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Mr Kenny said the media rehashed old allegations about Mr Morrison’s original pre-selection win back in 2007.

The Saturday Paper reported statutory declarations signed in 2016 alleged Mr Morrison described his opponent Michael Towke, who was a Lebanese Catholic, as a “Moslem”.

The Prime Minister rejected the claims.

“Simple equation for Labor – debate the issues and they run the risk of losing, keep everybody distracted with a character assassination attack on the prime minister and they have a chance of winning,” Mr Kenny said.
